These terms may appear polar at first, but they form the core of Carmen Fanego’s relationship with clients and her approach to handling legal matters.

She has counseled and helped manage financial institutions, real estate developers, condominium associations, companies of varying sizes, entity types, and jurisdictions, and investors, from coast to coast and across the globe throughout her twenty-plus-year legal career: As a senior attorney at an Am Law 100 firm, as Associate Counsel and Corporate Secretary and legal department manager for a major financial institution, and most recently, as Associate Counsel for a national multifamily development company. This extensive experience handling finance, acquisition, disposition, development and construction, management, operation and leasing of real estate across multi-family, luxury single family, industrial, office and retail sectors, retail banking operations, corporate risk management, corporate structuring and governance, and commercial contract drafting and negotiation have culminated in her joining Zumpano Castro as Co-Chair of its Real Estate and Finance team. In addition to continuing to advise her clients in the real estate and financial sectors, she is also successfully integrating her commercial and real estate expertise with the firm’s corporate practice in connection with corporate transactions and contracts related to corporate operations, including office and retail leases.
