Stephen’s practice involves defending claims for the Insurance Litigation Department, with a focus on first party property defense. Stephen manages various aspects of litigation, providing him with a comprehensive and thorough understanding of each client’s unique factual circumstances and legal needs. His previous insurance defense practice includes defending insureds, employers and insurance carriers on a broad spectrum of maritime and commercial litigation matters.
Stephen was born and raised in Miami, Florida. Prior to attending law school, Stephen received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from North Carolina Wesleyan College in 2015 where he was a member of the baseball team, as well as held All-Conference All-Academic team honors all four years during his undergraduate studies.
Stephen earned his Juris Doctorate degree from St. Thomas University School of Law, where he graduated cum laude with a certificate in Maritime Law, and a CALI Book Award in Insurance Law. While in law school, Stephen served as the president of the Maritime Law Society, as well as completed over 300+ hours of pro bono legal work. During law school, Stephen’s prior experiences include two internships at the United States Coast Guard District 7 Legal office, as well as a judicial clerkship at the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida for the Honorable Judge John O’Sullivan.
